Alfa Romeo keeps teasing us with its brand-new Giulia, perhaps the most anticipated European model of the decade.

After all, this is Alfa’s make or break, the car which will supposedly lead to the rebirth of the historic Italian brand and revive the values of its glorious past. The return to the RWD architecture is only one of the few highlights around this car, with the top of the range Quadrifoglio Verde to declare war on the German establishment of BMW’s M3 and Merc’s C63 AMG.

With a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 made with the help of Ferrari under the bonnet, the Giulia QV packs 503hp (510PS) and a manual gearbox to play with them. Alfa claims that the power is enough to send you from zero to 62mph (0-100km/h) in 3.9 seconds. I don’t know how much Ferrari is in that engine, but it sure plays the angry melody a lot of us have hoped for. After all, we haven’t seen an angry Alfa since the 156 GTA and its 147 counterpart (8C and 4C do not count).

There are many questions still remaining unanswered about the all-new Alfa Romeo Giulia, we are still waiting to see how the more down-to-earth models will look like or what other engines are going to be available, but until then at least we know that the QV sounds like it should.
