America Snags Simultaneous Burnout Record From Australia [w/Video]

In the automotive world, there are records (that matter) and then there are records like this one.

It’s the coveted and hugely prestigious simultaneous burnout record which was previously held by Australia but has now returned to the US.

The Aussies previously only managed to gather as many as 107 cars to set it, but now that number has been smashed by the high turnout at the Memphis International Raceway – 114 cars participated, which was more than enough to make the crowds go wild and also make it difficult for low flying birds to breathe and navigate…

Yes, this is a bit of fun and yes they were sponsored by Continental so tires weren’t a problem, but it’s such a pointless exercise that it should really be culled now before, not long in the future, we’ll see 1,000 cars gathered burning rubber at the same time – whom is that fun for, really?

i heard Guinness world record on the video………it’s more like a Darwin record.

  • Nothing says healthy like breathing in burnt rubber

where’s your sense of adventure? real car guys support anything having to do with cars, pointless or not. Tuners, muscle cars, exotics, fwd, awd, and rwd. Gotta just love ’em.

This is no Darwin record. This is great fun. The world is a better place for it. Hopefully one day heat sensing cameras are used to record these event, so able to see through the smoke 🙂 Similar to the heat sensing cameras that are used during the Formula One coverage to see tyre temperatures.
