Here it is; the first review of the all-new Jaguar XE that compares it to the segment’s benchmark, the BMW 3-Series.

The latest episode of Head 2 Head pits the range-topping Jaguar XE S against the pre-facelift BMW 335i. Powered by the same 340hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 petrol engine found in the F-Type, the Jaguar XE S is an all-new car with a bodywork that makes extensive use of aluminum.

The combination of a powerful engine and lightweight body means the Jaguar XE S should be an exciting car to drive. But is it sporty enough to beat the car that leads the segment in terms of handling and fun behind the wheel?

Jonny Lieberman tried to find out by driving both cars on Spain’s great country roads and his conclusions will definitely come as a surprise. I won’t spoil it for you, so the only way to find out if the Jaguar XE has anything against the BMW 3-Series is to watch the video.
