Dusk can be a beautiful time of day for taking photos and videos and it’s what makes this footage of the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo special. The video posted below features Nissan’s all-new official entry into the Le Mans LMP1 class.

It’s comparable to rival cars in terms of power and power to weight, but it’s clever as it uses a flywheel hybrid system and sends all of its power to the front wheels (or the rears, depending on how the hybrid system is set up).

However, it’s so far proven to be quite a bit slower than Porsche and Audi, and it nearly got beaten by a car from the class below in qualifying…

Even so, it’s the car’s first official outing, and it is admirable of Nissan that it chose a race with such high coverage even if it knew there was a chance it could fail to deliver on its promise first time out.
