Nissan is expanding the range of its electric e-NV200 with the addition of the most practical version yet, the seven seat edition.

Nissan unveiled the world’s first, all-electric true seven seater (don’t comment about Tesla, it’s not a true seven seater) at the Geneva Motor Show a few months back, responding to the huge interest from “fleet operators and larger families”. Private hire companies and shuttle services are expected to be the primary target group as the market demanded a purely electric vehicle of this type.

The new seven seater e-NV200 uses the same technology with the Leaf and Nissan claims that over a three-year period, the total cost of ownership is £2500 lower than a conventional diesel vehicle. The homologated NEDC range reaches 106 miles on a single charge, with the battery charged up to 80% full in “as little as 30 minutes”.

The third row of seats can be folded and stowed, making the e-NV200 even more practical and even with all the seats in place, the luggage space on offer is an impressive 870 litres.

Prices start at £19,895 for those who choose the Nissan Flex battery leasing option or £23,400 for those who want a straightforward purchase.
