Since this is the first video reviews of the all-new VW Touran we’ve come across so far, we were naturally curious to see what the new model brings.

What matters the most for an MPV buyer is space, and in this respect the new Touran doesn’t disappoint. Auto Express’ Rebecca Chaplin says the longer wheelbase compared to the previous model does make a difference, with both second- and third-row passengers having plenty of legroom.

Boot volume is generous as well, and the Touran offers improved practicality. However, the reviewer struggled to find more than 20 of VW’s claimed 47 storage spaces.

The new VW Touran is offered with a total of six engines (three petrols and three diesels), with most customers expected to go for the base 110PS (109hp) 1.6-liter TDI engine mated to the six-speed manual gearbox. While it’s a little bit noisy, particularly on the motorway, the diesel engine does everything that’s expected of it quite well.

Head over to the video to find out what else the reviewer had to say about VW’s new compact MPV.
