The refreshed VW Sharan has arrived in German dealerships with an unchanged base price of €32,000 (approximately $35,000). Compared to the outgoing model, the facelifted minivan gets more comfort and safety equipment, as well as more economical Euro6-compliant engines.

The lineup includes two TSI petrol units and three TDI diesels. The 1.4 TSI produces 150PS (148hp), while the 2.0 TSI delivers 220PS (217hp), an increase of 20hp compared to its predecessor.

The diesel lineup consists of three variants of the 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder, with 115PS (114hp), 150PS (148hp) and 184PS (181hp). With the exception of the base version, all units can be had with the six-speed DSG transmission with coasting function (standard on the top petrol engine). The updated VW Sharan can also be ordered with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system in combination with the 150PS TDI unit.

At launch, VW offers two special edition models called “Ocean” and “Beach,” painted in two new colors: “Hudson Bay Blue Metallic” (Ocean) or “Crimson Red” (Beach). Exterior upgrades include “Jakarta” 16-inch alloy wheels and silver roof rails, while added equipment consists of the ACC assistance system, Lane Assist, the Blind Spot Monitor plus Rear Traffic Alert and Park Assist (including ParkPilot).

Interior upgrades include specially designed seat covers with contrast stitching coordinated with the exterior color, a multifunction steering wheel, a gear lever gaiter with corresponding decorative stitching, electric sliding doors for the rear seating area and automatic air conditioning.
