Mazda BT-50 Pickup Truck Gets A Very Subtle Facelift

Mazda has started production of the facelifted BT-50 pickup truck at its Auto Alliance plant in Thailand. The refreshed model will be introduced from the second half of this year, starting in Thailand and Australia.

Introduced in 2011, the current generation BT-50 has now received a minor nip and tuck which Mazda says makes it look sportier than before, consisting of a slightly redesigned grille, darkened headlights and taillights and new aluminum wheels. Changes were made inside too, with Mazda saying the cabin offers a higher-quality feel. In addition, the BT-50 truck features for the first time a rear-view camera.

The powertrain and body-type lineup remains unchanged from the previous model. This means the Ford Ranger-based BT-50 will continue to be available with the 160PS (158hp) 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel and the 200PS (197hp) 3.2-liter five-cylinder turbo diesel.
