New 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Gets Fresh Teasers

Mitsubishi is shrugging off the recent scoops of their new Pajero Sport that was caught shooting a commercial earlier this week, as if it never happened, with a new teaser video.

Frankly, the only thing we haven’t seen before are the 2016 Pajero Sport’s LED daytime running lights that are incorporated into the headlamps and the fancy looking tear-drop LEDs on the tail lamps that drip into the rear bumper.

Not to be confused with Mitsubishi’s regular Pajero lineup of three- and five-door full-size SUVs (see here), the Pajero Sport, otherwise known as the Challenger, Montero Sport, Nativa and Pajero Dakar in other markets around the globe, is a rugged SUV based on the firm’s latest L200 pickup truck – just like Toyota’s competing Fortuner is built on the Hilux.

We’ll have the chance to see it in the flesh at Thailand’s Bangkok International Grand Motor Sale on August 1.

Two things: 1) That looks way better than anything to come out of Mitsubishi in at least the last 5 years. I had seriously written off the brand as purposely trying to run themselves into the ground (they have killed off almost anything that sold in the US). This may be the turning point that changes my mind on that.

    2) Those taillights, at least the vertical light bar sections, are uncomfortably close to the SRX and other Cadillacs:

The rest, especially the fascia, looks refreshingly unique. A good direction for future Mitsu design.

tail light fails the whole car!! Expect Mitsu will fix it in the next facelift.

Bring it to America, Mitsu. The company needs excitement in this country, a good 4×4 might be the ticket. Please no CVT, though.

do not compared Mitsubishi to other car company . Mitsubishi have is own design language and direction this car look very good compared to his predecessor I’m positive to the fact that engineering will be the best too . do not forget that Mitsubishi build reliable car

Despite hating the tail lights(they look like the Fit ones), I’m happy to see Mitsu back…

  • I think they decided to put some effort in design with a nice result
