The replacement to the Nissan 370Z sports car (known as the Fairlady Z in Japan) is expected to be quite a departure styling-wise.

According to a recent report, Nissan wants the upcoming Fairlady Z to remind people of the legendary Datsun 240Z. An example of Nissan’s intentions could be the 2011 Esflow Concept, which featured a profile that paid tribute to the 240Z.

However, that study doesn’t quite look like it could be produced tomorrow, unlike Theophilus Chin’s rendering of the next-generation Fairlady Z.

While the Photoshop expert expects the car to have a similar descending window line to the Esflow study, the rest of the car features current Nissan design styling cues. The most striking of them include the headlights, which look like an evolution of those on the 370Z, the more expressive radiator grille and a B-pillar treatment that reminds of the Murano.
