With similar power outputs and similar torque figures, these two cars should match each other blow for blow on the drag strip.

If you’re racing in an Audi RS7, your best bet is to rely on its quattro all-wheel drive system in order to get off the line faster than your opponent. Afterwards, just let those 560 PS and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) do the work for you as your car will ultimately pull away from most of its rivals.

The problem is, the RS7 weighs around 2 full tons, or 4,420 lbs. That’s a lot of mass to be carrying around with you, especially if your direct rival happens to weigh considerably less.

This is where this particular version of the CLS 63 AMG comes in. It has the Performance Package, yet no 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, which means that it’s 135 kg (297 lbs) lighter than the RS7. Plus, we’re looking at a rolling start so the RS7 shouldn’t be able to have better traction as it accelerates.

The odds are almost even, then, for both competitors. Find out the outcome by watching the video right after the jump.
