Manual sports cars are endangered species and when Porsche offers a three-pedal-only faster and lighter version of the Boxster we can only stand up and applaud.

EVO took the most exciting derivative of an already exciting roadster to an epic road trip around the Swiss Alps, allowing the Boxster Spyder to fill the beautiful scenery with its awesome melodies.

Powered by a 370hp version of the 3.8-litre flat six engine that’s been used also in the Cayman GT4, the Porsche Boxster Spyder can hit 100km/h (62mph) in 4.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 290km/h (180mph) with the roof closed, unlike its quirky predecessor.

Easily one of the great future classics, the Porsche Boxster Spyder is definitely one of our favourite models of the year, albeit one we will never have the ability to afford.
