Some people just need to understand the added responsibility of driving a motorized vehicle on a public road and stop letting their emotions get the better of them.

This is yet another example of multiple things going wrong during an overtaking maneuver that should have never taken place.

First of all, the car appears to be a Lada 110, and that’s no vehicle to be taking any sort of chances in. Sure, if you would have been behind the wheel of an S63 AMG, you probably could have gone past that truck without any worries, but a 1.6 liter 90 HP naturally aspirated petrol engine won’t give you the torque you need to pull off that move.

Furthermore, the guy had to have seen the smaller truck coming right? Even though it’s not a straight patch of road looking ahead (it turns a little to the right), you should still be able to see what’s ahead, unless the incoming truck was really speeding – and by the way, he should have gone off the road more to try to avoid the impact.

Two other things to note are that the reckless Lada driver lost control of the car and the truck driver that was being overtaken, didn’t do anything to help. He could have warned him not to go by, or he could have hit the brakes hard to allow the car time to pass. Maybe he wasn’t paying attention though.

But anyway, I’ll stop trying to come up with so many reasons why this happened. The main reason is foolishness, which of course is a direct by-product of human emotion.

Now, I’m not saying that we need to suppress our feelings Equilibrium-style, but regardless of what type of day you’re having, or how fast you need to get to your destination, it’s not worth taking chances with your life in traffic.

Thankfully, according to the video’s description, the guy made it out alive. Let’s just hope he’s learned his lesson.
