VW introduced a new, special edition of the Amarok in the UK market called the Atacama.

This limited edition of the Amarok is named after the desert region of South America and comes packed with plenty of standard kit. Bi-xenon headlights, black rear styling bars and matching rear bumper, a set of 19-inch ‘Cantera’ alloy wheels, a protective ‘Durabed’ coating on the loading bay and the obligatory decals complete the exterior differences of this special version of the VW Amarok.

The cabin features as standard Vienna leather upholstery, a newly designed multi-function steering also wrapped in leather, two-zone climate control and a sat-nav system with all the usual connectivity amenities integrated.

The VW Amarok Atacama can be ordered with the newly introduced twin-turbo 2.0-litreBiTDI diesel engine which makes 180ps (177hp). Customers can choose between two transmission options, a six-speed manual with selectable all-wheel drive or an eight-speed automatic with permanent all-wheel drive.

Volkswagen says that they will offer about 500 units of the Amarok Atacama in the UK market, with prices starting at £26,850 exc. VAT for the manual model (£32,220 inc.VAT) and £28,695 exc. VAT for the auto version (£34,434 inc.VAT).
