Over the past year, Chevy has introduced two distinct, market-specific versions of their new generation Cruze, one for China, and another for North America.

The Cruze spied undergoing high altitude tests in the USA by Carscoops reader Brett Borgard is clearly based on the Chinese model (see it here) but it comes with a few styling twists.

By that, we mean it has a different front grille that incorporates Chevy’s bow-tie logo in the middle, modified headlamp clusters, and possibly, revised tail lamps hiding behind the camouflage at the back.

This is one of those odd prototypes that we can’t be sure about without additional information, as it could be anything from an upcoming, market-specific version of the Cruze (i.e. for India or South America) to an older development prototype used to evaluate one or more components before production use.
