Ferrari released the first promotional video of its newest creation, the 660hp 488 Spider.

The topless exotic model made its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show and it’s considered the most powerful mid-engined V8 Ferrari with a retractable roof. That’s because the new Spider uses the same animal of an engine that power its fixed-roof sibling, the 488 GTB, meaning a biturbo 661hp 3,902cc V8 which catapults it from zero to 100km/h in 3 seconds flat with 0-200km/h taking just 8.7 seconds.

Ferrari also claims that the chassis has lost nothing of its torsional rigidity despite the lack of the fixed roof thanks to the clever use of different alloys and exotic materials like magnesium.

The video shows the new Ferrari 488 Spider being enjoyed in beautiful B-roads with the roof tacked away and the newly-developed V8 playing its song, which kind of depresses me because now I want one even more.
