While the lowly VW Polo is no match for the likes of the BMW M4, Mercedes-AMG C63 S and the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, this video shows us how much time you lose trying to engage Launch Control.

Of course, performance-wise this is absolutely irrelevant – or even silly, as admitted during this segment. But in terms of real-world application, it is interesting to see which of these systems can be activated the fastest.

Again, don’t mind the Polo BlueMotion getting of the line first. The driver doesn’t need to press any buttons in order to activate a certain system. All you have to do is put it in gear and accelerate.

With the Merc, BMW and Porsche, it’s a whole different story. Each of them has this sort of “check list” you need to do before you engage Launch Control, and regardless how fast you are in getting there, it will still take you a couple of seconds to complete before you can release the brake pedal.

And yes, I’m trying not to give anything away, in case you want to see for yourselves which of the three “supercars” was quickest/easiest during launch.

Also, in case you wanted to see a good old fashioned drag race between these cars, well, unfortunately that wasn’t the idea behind this video.

It’s who can engage LC quickest, not who can accelerate fastest.
