This isn’t the first time we’ve found a Formula 1 car for sale, but this is the newest and the cheapest of the bunch. And it’s on Craigslist.

If you’re like me, then you love scouting internet adverts for awesome cars. The process becomes significantly intense when you discover a unicorn among a sea of mediocrities. Like this 2011 Lotus T128 Formula 1 car, for instance. Yes, yes, it reads Catherham on it, but according to the owner, the racer was turned into a show car with a 2013 Caterham body.

Although we featured more than a couple of singe-seaters for sale, finding a F1 car for grabs is a rare occurrence. Still, the owner of this fine example is willing to let it go for $95,000, or trade it – because apparently he thinks someone browses Craigslist in search of Formula 1 racers.

Mind you, the Lotus doesn’t have an engine, but otherwise it comes as packed as a retired Formula 1 car belonging to a random guy in Nashville can get. It has the carbon fiber monocoque intact, the whole suspension made – naturally – out of carbon-fiber, 13-inch BBS wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires and it sports a Red Bull Technologies seven-speed semi-automatic transmission with reverse gear. Transforming this into a fully-functional racer isn’t that far-fetched, if you think about it.

Being a 2011 season model, the car was most likely driven around the world’s most fantastic tracks by either Jarno Truly or Heikki Kovalainen. But we’re inclining to say Heikki, as a sticker on the car says “Heikki 90mm”, which could only mean… something.

Anyway, just imagine it mated with its original 18,000 rpm, naturally aspirated V8, staying in your living room.
