We’ve seen the production variant of the Tesla Model X, but no official debut date was announced. Until now…

Apparently, Elon Musk twitted that the electric car manufacturer’s first production CUV will be delivered on September 29, at their Freemont factory, to the customers who already reserved the practical electric model.

It’s interesting how Tesla started out with Lotus-derived, battery-filled roadsters and now the manufacturer is already planning to make room for another model in their expanding line-up. God knows it needed some diversity.

Musk went on explaining the pricing confusion on the top-spec, $132,000-starting, Signature Series Model X, as the CUV is $5,000 more expensive than a Model S with the same options due to its greater size and body complexity.

Too bad the price doesn’t include the $10,000 “ludicrous” package, but it’s still an interesting rig to own. 259hp front and 503hp rear electric motors driving a large SUV – equipped with awesome “Falcon Wing” rear doors – from 0 to 100 Km/h in 3.8 seconds; c’mon, that’s exotic.
