After Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne confirmed that the Dino will be revived, most fans probably can’t wait to see it take on the likes of the McLaren 540C.

Watching an entry-level supercar showdown should be fascinating, especially since Marchionne confirmed that Ferrari would not risk altering their customers expectations, by producing a car that’s inferior to its competition.

This means that the Dino should, at least in theory, look about as nice as the California T once you opened its doors and took a seat behind the wheel.

But what about exterior looks? Isn’t that what we’re all most curious about?

Thankfully, this rendering, does help to quench a little bit of that thirst. It’s based on the 488 GTB, which probably won’t be the case in real life, but the front of the car looks pretty good – perhaps a bit too much like the Lamborghini Asterion concept?

Also, we could be looking at a twin-turbo V6 engine, straight out of the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. At least that’s what spy photographers thought it sounded like when they captured this test mule on camera.

The only downside is that we’ll have to wait a couple of years before seeing it on the street.
