As the official sponsor and car supplier to the FIM MotoGP Championship, Abarth is celebrating its status by announcing the 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition.

As we found out last month, this new 595 comes in a choice of seven colors and with several sporty features such as 17″ matte black alloys, black calipers as well as optional matching Abarth side stripes and mirror covers. Abarth also went with a darkened window design, a flat-bottom leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals and of course a special ‘Yamaha Factory Racing’ badge, all standard.

Options include the xenon headlights, leather interior and dual zone air conditioning – making sure that the driver is comfortable behind the wheel as well as excited about the car’s impressive looks and performance figures.

The 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition is not only powered by an upgraded version of Abarth 1.4 liter T-Jet engine, but also has a Record Monza exhaust system, Koni shocks with FSD valves and Eibach lowering springs.

According to Gerry Southerington, Abarth UK brand manager, “The new 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition adds a new dimension to the Abarth 595 line-up. With an upgrade to 160 horsepower, lowered suspension, sporting looks and a great sounding exhaust system, we expect a lot of interest in this car from Abarth enthusiasts and new customers alike.”

Aside from the power output, this car also has 230 Nm (169 lb-ft) of peak torque as soon as it hits 3,000 rpm (Sport mode), a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 209 km/h (130 mph).

UK customers can place their orders with prices starting from £17,420 OTR.
