Back To The Future II Parody Looks At How Actual 2015 Differs From The Movie

The year 2015 is portrayed very differently in the Back to the Future movie series. There’s clearly much more optimism as to the advancements in technology from the mid 1980s up to that point.

Sadly, as this amusing video by CollegeHumor illustrates, not only are we way off the mark in terms of tech, it seems society as a whole does not fit the quirky-optimistic view the movie portrayed.

Cars still don’t quite fly or run on garbage, we still haven’t mastered holograms, shoe laces don’t tie themselves and no mainstream board can provide hovering. The one Lexus created doesn’t count because it cheated by placing magnets in the surface that the hoverboard operated on.

But maybe the movie was merely showing a naive and shortsighted view of the future that would not have been beneficial had it manifested.

Either way, the short video is a fun watch even if you don’t want to get socio-philosophical about it… Beware there’s some light swearing within, but it’s on the very light side of the NSFW scale.
