Audi will build its all-electric Q6 E-Tron SUV in their plant in Brussels, Belgium according to a fresh report.

The upcoming Q6 will be manufactured at the same factory Audi makes its A1 supermini with the report coming from De Morgen. The Belgian Audi factory produced 115,000 vehicles in 2014. Audi declined to comment on the report.

The electric crossover, which will rival Tesla’s Model X, will offer a range of up to 500km (310 miles) with the concept first shown in this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The prototype was using three electric motors with a combined output of 429hp, a figure that can go up to 469hp for short periods of time.

The concept also used a 95kWh lithium-ion battery mounted into the floor between the axles for the optimum center of gravity and balance, a configuration which is expected to make it on the final production vehicle.

Volkswagen has also announced that an all-electric version of the new Phaeton is now scheduled, and chances are that it will use the same powertrain with the Q6 E-Tron with minor differences as the Group is going to develop a new, modular platform for electric vehicles only.
