Since gaming will often give you the chance to drive some of the world’s greatest cars, those who know they probably won’t ever enjoy riding in a BMW M2 can finally breathe easy.

The M2 is kind of a sneaky choice for a game like Need For Speed, where you generally improve your car with stages upon stages of aero and mechanical upgrades. It’s often the lighter, quicker cars that kick the most behind when you set them up with a whole bunch of extra horsepower.

BMW made it clear that you’ll be able to race and customize the M2 in Need For Speed from the get go, which means that you won’t have to waste too much time winning rides or collecting cash.

The Bavarian manufacturer also said that the new M2 Coupe is an integral part of the game plot, which runs outside of the different free race modes – that should be pretty interesting. The M2 will join two already confirmed M3s (E46 & E30), along side the M4, as available in-game BMW models.

Since we can’t know just yet what type of upgrades will be made available for the M2, we can only imagine what would happen if we were to ramp up performance on a 370 PS car, already capable of hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.3 seconds. This may be just a guess, but getting it to hit that same mark in under 4 seconds shouldn’t be all that hard, especially since the things you can do to your car in these NFS games are almost unreal.

Need For Speed 2015 hits the shelves on November 3rd, available for Xbox One, PS4 & PC.
