While not much has been officially confirmed about the Qoros 5, we do know that it will be the flagship of the Qoros range, while using the same platform as the 3 Hatch/Sedan and City SUV.

By starting with what we can see, we have to mention the decent-sized ground clearance, the chromed door handles and the fact that you get a chrome strip at the rear just like with the Qoros 3 City SUV, except that instead of the number ‘3’, you have the number ‘5’.

The strip is also positioned at the bottom of the tailgate as opposed to that of its smaller sibling. There’s also a subtle hint of the Range Rover Evoque concerning the front end, when viewed from the side – but that’s as far as one might go with that type of comparison.

Power is said to come from a 156 HP 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol unit, mated to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, though it’s best we wait for an official confirmation. It’s also unclear if the Qoros 5 will feature an all-wheel drive system (at least on higher spec versions), because it would be a nice addition to the brand itself.

Performance-wise, we’d expect it to be slower than the smaller and lighter Qoros 3 SUV, which can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 10 seconds flat. If they’ll be using the same engine, the Qoros 5 will surely feel quite a bit more sluggish.

We’ll know a lot more once the car will make its debut at the 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show on November 20th.
