Skoda has built a show car called Superb Black Crystal in cooperation with renowned Czech glassworks Preciosa.

Based on the new Skoda Superb sedan in range-topping Laurin & Klement trim, the Black Crystal concept features a unique finish to the wheel rims, which have been coated in StarDust.

This finish consists of small, bright crystals which give the wheels a very shiny appearance. The same coating finish was used this summer by the Skoda design team to create the Tour de France winner trophies.

Other unique details on the Superb show car include high quality crystal Skoda logos on the front and rear, on the wheels and the steering wheel. The Laurin & Klement emblems on the fenders and steering wheel are also highlighted in crystal elements.

“The new Skoda Superb stands out with its expressive, emotional design and great attention to detail. This claim is further demonstrated in Skoda’s new show car – the ‘Superb Black Crystal’. Through precision-processed glass crystals, the show car looks like an item of jewellery only to be worn on special occasions,” said Skoda Chief Designer Josef Kabaň.

The new Skoda Superb Black Crystal show car will debut at the Designblok 2015, during Czech Design and Fashion Week which starts tomorrow in Prague.
