Still images, specs and a tech analysis of Ferrari’s ultimate road legal front-engined V12 supercar was all we had until now. Finally, the wait to see it on the move is over.

The F12tdf was rolled out for the first time at Mugello and, much to the crowd’s delight it wasn’t a simple display but a full-on celebration of the hardcore, limited edition model.

The three cars that were present did the customary rounds, treating the spectators to the incredible sound produced by the tuned 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated unit that pumps out an impressive 780 PS (770 HP).

That’s not all, though: Scuderia’s Formula 1 drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were there, taking the radically redesigned version of the F12berlinetta for a spin, both metaphorically and literally, as burning rubber doing donuts was part of the show.

The F12tdf sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 7.9 seconds and, thanks to lots of technology transfer from the F1 program, it is more efficient in everything, from aerodynamics and gearbox changes to the reduced weight and innovative rear-wheel steering system.
