When it comes to bragging rights, Audi definitely seems to have the upper hand on Mercedes-Benz at the moment on the performance front.

The Audi R8 V10 plus is good for 610 PS, 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) and weighs 1,630 kg (3,593 lbs). It will accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and max out at 330 km/h (205 mph). Ingolstadt has created a mean machine, that’s for sure.

Mercedes’ best chance at an upset here obviously lies with the AMG GT S and its 510 PS, 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) and 1,645 kg (3,626 lbs). In a straight line it will do 310 km/h (192 mph) and hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds. On paper, it’s down on just about everything compared to the Audi, except for torque.

As for the C63 S, it’s obviously not quicker than the AMG GT S, plus it’s handicapped by being heavier than both its sibling and the Audi. What’s interesting is that this sports saloon actually has the most torque of all three, boasting an impressive 700 Nm (516 lb-ft).

What’s important is that these cars will only be racing to the 1,000 m mark (0.62 miles. Will either of the Mercs be able to beat the Audi? Here comes the answer.
