The former range-topping version of BMW‘s 2-Series Coupe lineup, the M235i, was spotted parked besides the new top-of-the-line model, the M2.

The two models may look similar to the untrained eye, but most petrol heads will tell you that there aredifferences between them, starting with the exterior, continuing with the cabin and ending, of course, with the performance upgrades.

The M2 Coupe, pictured here, wears BMW’s new Long Beach Blue color and features a more aggressive front bumper with larger air vents, an updated grille, widened wheel arches, a redesigned rear bumper with a new diffuser incorporating quad exhaust pipes, different wheels and, of course, the M badges, which were covered up in this case.

The new pics of the high-performance sports car come a little after we saw it in an Alpine White-finish and a Mineral Grey shade, while another example was recently spotted wearing M Performance parts.

If you’re interested in the M2, BMW plans to bring it to the States next spring, but no pricing details have been announced so far. However, in the UK, the model starts from £44,070 ($67,200).
