Honda Adds 2003-2005 CR-V Models To The Takata Airbag Recall

Honda has announced the expansion of the US recall to include certain 2003 and 2004 CR-V models in order to replace free of charge their Takata front passenger airbag inflators.

The new addition involves approximately 127,000 vehicles which are equipped with Takata’s defective components with the initial recall having already listed 78,000 CR-Vs from 2003 and 2004.

Models now included in the latest recall are the 2003-2007 Accord, 2001-2005 Civic, 2002-2004 CR-V, 2003 Element, 2002-2003 Odyssey, 2003 Pilot and 2003 Acura MDX with the total number of passenger airbag inflators that need replacement reaching approximately the 3.4 million mark.

“American Honda continues to urge owners of Honda and Acura vehicles affected by the Takata airbag inflator recalls to get their vehicles repaired at authorized dealers as soon as possible. Vehicle owners can check their vehicles’ recall status at www.recalls.honda.com for Honda owners or www.recalls.acura.com for Acura owners or by calling their authorized dealer,” said the company in their statement.
