With more interior space and advanced technologies than both the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Bentley Mulsanne, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is arguably the closet thing to a private jet for the streets.

Due to this, it’s inevitable the relaunched Maybach will prove popular for some very famous names and fittingly, armoured vehicle specialist Inkas has unveiled its fortified take on the German sedan.

As with other high-end armoured vehicles, a key aim of Inkas is to ensure its vehicles look as standard and inconspicuous as possible and with its armoured Mercedes-Maybach S600, it has done just that. As a matter of fact, the car looks completely normal from the outside. However, it is far from normal.

Most importantly, the body has been strengthened to a CEN 1063 BR7 rating which means it can withstand successive rounds of full jacket, pointed bullet and NATO ammunition. Additionally, the windows also have ballistic protection while a fire suppression system has also been installed alongside run flat tires and a James Bond-esque smoke screen system.

Inside, everything is standard Mercedes-Maybach S600. That means the same seats are featured including those at the rear which can recline and include large footrests. This initial creation from Inkas has black leather trim and as with all other S600’s, an ambient light feature which offers the customer a number of coloured lighting options.

A fully-fitted 2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600 from Inkas will set customers back $500,000.
