We all know Dubai as being home to some of the world’s most expensive and exclusive supercars but with the recent formation of W Motors, the small city is beginning to create its very own automotive industry. Now we can add another startup to that list in the form of Jannarelly Automotive.

The company has been founded by Anthony Jannarelly, who has been responsible for designing both the Lykan Hypersport and Fenyr Supersport for W Motors. Jannarelly’s business partner is the owner of carbon fiber manufacturer, Equation Composite and what they have dreamt up is dubbed the Design-1.

Jannarelly Automotive expects production of the Design-1 to start in April 2016 and have quite ambitious plans for the car with it potentially being sold not only in the Middle East but also across Europe and in the United States.

Powering the two-seat roadster will be a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine delivering 304 hp and 371 Nm of torque. Coupled to that engine is a six-speed transverse manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels through a limited slip differential. As the Jannarelly Design-1 is made from a steel tubular frame complete with fiberglass and carbon fiber panels and weighs just 710 kg, it will hit 62 mph in four seconds and a 136 mph top speed.

Jannarelly is planning on unveiling the first prototype Design-1 in February.
