Mercedes have, finally, brought the iconic G-Class to the 21st century with its second generation in four decades.

The Germans also launched the new AMG G63 in Geneva, alongside other premieres. Now, with all the tech specs out, they have stepped up the game by releasing yet another spot.

The video shows the range-topping G-Class portrayed as the perfect urban cruiser. Additionally, it won’t let down its users when the weather goes bad, and to highlight its go-anywhere ability, the company has thrown it lots of clouds and lightnings, for more visual drama, sprinkling everything with the V8 symphony coming from the engine bay.

Unlike other SUVs out there, the 2019 G-Class / Mercedes-AMG G63 is not just meant for the school runs or looking cool in the parking lot. It packs a lot of clever features that turn it into a potent off-roader, and in its most powerful form, it is powered by an AMG-tuned twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8.

Thanks to its 585PS (577hp) and 850Nm (627lb-ft) of torque, the new G63 needs just 4.5 seconds to reach 100km/h (62mph) from a standstill and has a top speed electronically capped at 220km/h (137mph), or 240km/h (149mph) with the optional AMG Driver’s Package. Not bad for a boxy vehicle that weighs as much as a small building, is it?
