Earlier this week, Porsche unveiled yet another variant of the Panamera: the GTS.

It’s offered in both body styles and features an adaptive air suspension, beefier brakes, 20-inch wheels, special updates inside and a host of equipment, including a new head-up display.

Pushing it from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 4.1 seconds is the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. It develops 460 PS (453 hp / 338 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque, dispatched to both axles via an eight-speed PDK transmission. Under full throttle, the Panamera GTS will max out at 292 km/h (181 mph).

By comparison, the Mercedes-AMG CLS 53’s twin-turbo mild hybrid powertrain is good for 435 PS (429 hp / 320 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. It works together with a nine-speed auto, and helps the CLS 53 hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds, and a top speed of 270 km/h (167 mph).

Porsche will bring the first units of the Panamera GTS and Panamera GTS Sport Turismo at dealerships across the United States in the second half of 2019. Pricing starts from $129,350 and $135,550, respectively, which equals to €111,687-€117,041 at today’s exchange rates, and includes the destination charge.

Until then, future owners and Porsche enthusiasts alike can see it in action in a very dynamic film released by the German car firm, which has a daring message: “Courage changes everything”. But you can see what it’s about by scrolling down and clicking play.
