This Russian Camel Managed To Pull A Lada Out Of The Snow!

How many camels does it take to tow a car? One – and no, it’s not a joke.

A video that has gone viral shows a massive Bactrian camel somehow rescuing a car that’s stuck in the snow. Not only is this the craziest thing you’ll see all day, it also might be the most absurd clip you see all year.

It was recorded in the Russian city of Saratov, which was recently hit with ferocious snow blizzards and, according to reports, many roads and motorways had snow banks taller than a person. It’s therefore little surprise that many drivers have found themselves stuck and in desperate need of help.

Typically you’d expect to see 4x4s towing out cars that are stuck in thick snow, but the Russians do things a little different. That’s evidently why the owner of this camel decided it possessed more than enough strength to save this Lada Niva that, despite its off-roading prowess, was definitely not going anywhere.

Despite what you may think, camels aren’t exclusively found in dry and desolate deserts. The Bactrian camel is found throughout much of Central Asia, including Russia, and can be differentiated from most others by its two humps and thick hair.

The usual unit of measurement for determine a vehicle’s power is ‘horsepower,’ but after watching this video, we think that may need to be altered to ‘camelpower.’
