The 2019 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed was probably the most exciting one yet. Several cars hosted their world premiere during the event, whereas others made their dynamic debut.
Being almost two years old, the Dallara Stradale did none of the above. It was, however, driven up the hill by none other than four-time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti, so it deserves some more attention, as this is one of the most exciting things on four wheels that money can buy.

With a starting price of €155,000 (equal to almost $174,000), it’s not a car for everyone. However, it doesn’t pretend to be one, as its targeted customer is a track-day enthusiast, or perhaps a former pro-racing driver who wants to relive the old days in a model that tips the scales just 855 kg (1,885 lbs). It simply sticks to the tarmac, especially with the optional rear wing that provides it with a whopping 820 kg (1,808 lbs) of downforce at 280 km/h (174 mph).
The Ford-sourced 2.3-liter EcoBoost four is connected to a 6-speed manual or automated-manual transmission. It develops 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, which rockets it to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.25 seconds, a few tenths of a second slower than a Lamborghini Huracan Evo, but quicker than the rear-wheel drive version of the Italian supercar.
