Quench Your Need For Speed With A 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV

The 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV is one of the Italian carmaker’s finest ever supercars and a rare example is currently up for auction in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Adorning the exterior of the car is a Smalto Deep Black paint scheme that includes huge silver SV graphics on the sides. The Diablo SV sits on 18-inch five-spoke wheels and includes Brembo brakes, an adjustable rear wing, and a front-axle lift system. Lamborghini is said to have built just 425 examples of the Diablo SV and this example was sold new from Ultimate Motor Works in Florida.

As this is a 1998 model year, it was the final Diablo to feature pop-up headlights and the aforementioned OZ Racing wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires measuring 245/35 up front and 335/30 at the rear. The Bring A Trailer listing reveals that the front shock absorbers were rebuilt in February 2017. At the same time, the upper and lower sway bar links and boots were replaced, as were the front lower control arm bushings and the left front brake cooling host duct.

The interior of the rare Lamborghini is finished in Nero leather with matching carpets and panels. There is also some carbon fiber accents on the center console as well as a pop-up Pioneer head unit with Alpine speakers and a front trunk-mounted amplifier. The odometer confirms the car has just under 37,000 km (~23,000 miles) on the clock.

Sitting at the heart of the Diablo SV is a 5.7-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine that produced 530 hp and 428 lb-ft (580 Nm) of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels courtesy of a five-speed manual transmission and a ZF limited-slip differential.
