So far, and leaving aside GM's own press photography, we have seen the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray on the floors of the Detroit Auto Show, at the recent Barrett-Jackson auction and parked at Jay Leno's Garage.
If that's not enough, then you may want to thank some very lucky (?) members from the Corvette7 forums including Vette_85, who were able to photograph and capture some footage of the seventh generation of GM's halo sports car out in the streets.
To be precise, GM's engineers were out testing three pre-production Corvette Stingray models in Arizona, with the black-colored car fitted with a 7-speed manual and the optional Z51 performance and aero package, while the blue and red coupes were base variants.
Photos and a video from their meeting with the Vettes follow below.
Thanks to Cody O. for the heads up!

Where's the Stingray emblem? already stolen?
Oh my gawd...oh my f@#king gawd. Repeat. Repeat. Add some shitty music.
these are pre-production models.. they aren't finished. if you notice the black car is missing some reflectors also
It looks really good in blue. I would prefer it without the floating roof and that gaudy blacked-out A-pillar though.
These are pre-production
shitty paint job
They look crap. I'm sorry but you yanks have no taste in cars period!
The 4 exit tips at the back look so stupid and why? Why do that? It's just dumb.
Also the power from the engine is so yesterday. 450HP? Really? It's a Corvette and it's 2013, German performance sedans now days have well over 500HP. Come on who are we kidding. This was an exercise by GM in how to build something cheap and nasty and make the most profit from. Seriously the guy who jizzed his pants over this mundane ugly car in the video needs to go see a psychiatrist asap!
Has anyone mentioned if the vent over the rear quarter panel is functional?
The 2013 base Porsche 911 makes do with 350HP. The 2013 entry level Audi R8 has 450. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they've always been GERMAN. But hey, they're both trash, right? It's marketing, genius. That's why they are base models. As for the Vette, you can hate the looks - I'm not even sure I'm wild about them - but a sub four second 0-60 is pretty damned quick, especially for a lowly, paltry, handicapped 450HP model. Have a great day!
Hey pipsqueak, that's Ronnie James Dio, if he hadn't boned your groupie mama you wouldn't be here now. lol
Hottest headlights on the market today. Anyone see the BRZ influence? Wonder how much they weigh. GM finally going in the right direction
Why are they calling it Stingray(s), when it's still the same shape since C3-C4?!
Why are the tail lights pulsing?!
To be honest, far from the rear-end it could be Camaro too...
"some shitty music"... pffff... kids today
GM said that every centimeter on the car is there for a reason, I can't find the video at the moment.
Perfect place for the corvette: Walmart!!
I just realized that when I looked up the one that showcased at NAIAS. But I still wish they had not blacked-out the a-pillars of the car.
The black one looks nice.... let me guess, they stopped for a food break, judging by the bigguy that got out of the blue one...? donuts? ...bigmacs?
"Anyone see the BRZ influence? "
No.
The WT music and just everything about this video pissed me off. Right down to the well fed guy in shorts and sneakers that gets out in the parking lot of a strip mall in some shit town. I've been waiting for a world class replacement to the Corvette for what seems like forever. And it's discouraging that this is it, and will be the Corvette for the next eight years or so. These things look like awful.
I'm having second thought's about the looks of this car
I mean, the more I look at it. I find something I don't
