You'll have to forgive us for not being sure about the authenticity of this purportedly official image, showing the all-new BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo or GT for short and which popped up online on a French forum today.
While the actual 3 GT may look more or less like the car featured here, the reason why we have some doubts about the picture is the soft shading on the M Sport style bumper, and the reflections on the hood and the roof that don't match the background, which itself, looks doctored. Of course, we could be wrong…
You can take a closer looks at the image that follows and tell us what you think.
With the GT model, BMW is venturing into new an area of the premium segment offering a 3-Series with a slightly longer wheelbase (or so we've heard) and a more practical liftback body style to appeal to family car buyers.
It is expected that the 3-Series GT will be equipped with a two-piece tailgate similar to that used on the larger 5-Series GT. Naturally, the engine range will be shared with the rest of the 3-Series range.

it is a real press-photo! embargo 7.2.!
Real or not, this is one ugly automobile.
Completely shopped. The rear "hatch" section does not flow properly with the hip line. Can tell it was shopped. Plus the sun roof is lined up all wrong, and its curved the wrong way.
I'd have to guess fake, if only because it is missing the front quarter panel vent seen on the new M cars including the M5 and M6.
WTF IT IS GREETINGS FRM POLAN

The "scoop" gallery on the website you posted is indeed "old" news, but this is a different picture, one that is claimed (we can't verify this yet) to be an "official" image.
