Cheeky marketing directors may have had their way in naming the three-door version of the new Seat Leon a Sport Coupe (SC), but a shorter wheelbase and a slightly more raked and lower roofline doesn’t really justify the coupe moniker for what is, for all intents and purposes, a hatchback model.

The Hungarian designers from X-Tomi want to change that (at least in theory) with a design study for a real Leon Coupe model christened the Lugo, which would continue to utilize the Leon’s MQB platform and mechanical hardware.

No details were provided for the build, but it looks like it was designed as a strictly 2 seater or an extremely uncomfortable for the rear passengers, 2+2 model, with a traditional coupe roofline and a more aggressively styled front and sleeker rear end.

The Lugo would compete with the VW Group’s Scirocco fastback.
