The Opel (and Vauxhall) Meriva small minivan has reached that maturing point in its life where automakers prepare a visual makeover and sometimes hardware updates to renew consumer interest in their products. That usually happens after three or four years, and you guessed it, the second generation Meriva has been with us since 2010.

We have been seeing prototypes of the updated Meriva since 2012, but the one pictured here seems to sport the complete set of cosmetic changes, including the reshaped headlamps and front bumper with different openings, front grille, new taillamp designs and possibly changes to the tailgate – rear window.

What else is there in store for the small MPV? We could see some interior improvements, mainly to the center console and dashboard (similar to the ones on the upcoming Corsa), and even updates to the Meriva’s engine and transmission range.
