Ford has finally succeeded in making its Focus not-ugly, courtesy of the recent facelift that brought with it an Aston martin grille, revised exterior styling all round and an interior built out of higher quality materials, featuring a controls layout that is simpler and less confusing than before.

Now, UK magazine WhatCar? has arranged one of its usual static previews, this time focusing on the revised Ford hatch.

Their thoughts are generally expressed positively, though some still criticize the use of hard plastics in visible places inside or the insufficient space it offers for the driver’s left foot (in the left-hand drive models that they showed).

All who were invited seem happy with the new styling, and it’s a nice looking car, but honestly anything would have been better than the failed first attempt at styling, with those two visible triangles splitting up the grille – a real eyesore, unless the car was black.
