Ok, so there is nothing left to be said about Ford’s uber-hatch that hasn’t been told yet, from its 4WD drivetrain to the turbocharged 2.3 EcoBoost and that ‘drift’ button to the launch control function and …err that is all the info Ford has given us.

No 0-60 time and no exact power figures have been released, yet. Thank you Ford, for not letting us have the crucial numbers of your hottest creation so we can start arguing like normal people on the comment section, that’s so nice of you.

So the initial press release was mentioning that the new Focus RS will make in excess of 320 PS (316hp) along with the promise of a 0-60 time in less than 5 seconds. If you think that the double-clutch auto-only Audi RS3 scores an incredible 4.3 seconds for the same figure, expect the manual Focus RS to reach 60mph from a standstill somewhere in the high 4s.

According to sources, the power figure will be closer to 345hp, which is the exact power the last Focus RS500 was making. It makes sense that Ford wants to at least offer the same horsepower as it did with the previous generation, leaving room this way for even more powerful versions. Time will tell.

Until the announcement of the official stats, all we have to do is take another look on the new generation and its small details.

Do not forget of course to vote for your favourite uber-hatch in our polls that are still running. The new Focus RS is winning the first one against Honda’s Civic Type R but Subaru’s WRX STI is leading the other one, proving that the Scooby is still a very desirable machine.
