A camouflaged tester for Cadillac’s upcoming XT5 crossover has been caught stalking US roads by a sharp-eyed Carscoops reader.

Comparing these photos shot by Brett Borgard with the undisguised 2017 Cadillac XT5 that was nabbed during a photoshoot in Manhattan, New York, a few months ago, we’re pretty sure that they’re one and the same.

Their proportions are identical, as are many details – despite being obstructed by the heavy camo, such as the sharp mirrors positioned on the door, the window line, the low profile roof bars, and the shark fin antenna.

And if for whatever reason you remain skeptical, it has the same kind of cladding and wraps as an older Cadillac tester we spied last year.

The XT5, Cadillac’s replacement for the SRX, is the first crossover to use the brand’s new nomenclature under which the former get a name that begins from “XT”. It’s a clean sheet design believed to be based on GM’s new front- and all-wheel drive architecture dubbed “C1XX”, with power to likely come from an updated 3.6-liter V6 gasoline mill, and possibly, a hybrid unit as well.

Tip of the hat to Brett for the shots!
