Zender Spices Up Alfa Romeo 4C [w/Video]

Alfa Romeo’s compact lightweight 4C model is kind of cute; in fact, it’s too cute for Zender’s standards.

I think we can all agree that the Alfa 4C is an astonishing looking car but it can look a little harmless. Don’t get me wrong, its 895 kilograms (1,973 lb) dry weight makes it a ballistic little powerhouse, even though it’s motivated by a 237 hp, 1750 cc turbocharged powerplant. In fact, the 4C is a raw and primordial animal, punching well above its weight, leaving serious bruises in the process.

That didn’t stop Zender to infuse it with a little more oomph (not too much, just enough to make it even more crude) and bedizen it with an angry attitude.

The modifications now boast a power to weight ratio growth from about 3.73 kg/hp to 3.20 kg/hp, all thanks to a 34 hp power increase and a 15 kg (33 lb) weight reduction. Enough to make the car sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds and stop accelerating at 265 km/h (165 mph).

And it now it looks like its packing something more substantial, mainly due to the carbon-fiber, aggressive body-kit that channels air to the important bits and pieces of the drivetrain. The car was already pretty low and wide, but now, thanks to the visual mods, its stance along with the center-lock wheels makes it seem like a proper racer.

The interior hasn’t escaped untouched either, as Zender garnished it with black leather, Alcantara and red stitching. Nevertheless, it isn’t as radical as the exterior of the little beast. Have you seen the rear carbon fiber apron with the incorporated diffuser?
