It may be sold out and the only way to get one is by constantly checking the second-hand market, but it remains one of the highlights made by Porsche in 2015.

This is the Porsche Cayman GT4, which was revealed prior to its Geneva Motor Show debut, last February.

The sports car was dubbed a 911-killer and it shares some chassis components with the rugged 911 GT3, its engine comes from the (previous) Carrera S’ 3.8-liter flat-six engine, with its 380hp (385PS) directed to the rear axle through a six-speed manual transmission.

The Cayman GT4 needs just 4.4 seconds to reach 100km/h (62mph) and it can go up to a top speed of 295km/h (183mph). Specs don’t stop here because Porsche claims a Nurburgring lap time of just 7 minutes and 40 seconds for its road-legal model, which puts it in the same league with the 997 GT3 and the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

The aerodynamic package tells you that this isn’t your regular Cayman and stepping inside means sitting on the sports seats finished in leather and Alcantara and grabbing the Alcantara-clad steering wheel.

Specs are all nice and dandy, but in the end it all comes down to actually driving the car. Let’s see what Telegraph Cars has to say about that…
