We can all thank Gordon Kelly and his determination to see his design becoming reality for this truly wonderful coachbuilt Corvette.

Gordon Kelly was an industrial designer from Wisconsin with the wish to design his own sports car.

He wasn’t a wealthy guy but this didn’t detract him from jumping on a plane and travel to Europe in order to make his dream come true. Petrolicious brings us the great story of the Kelly Corvette.

Vignale then build his design on top of a 1961 Corvette, creating the truly unique, one-of-one Kelly Corvette. But instead of becoming a garage queen, this beauty is regularly enjoyed by its current owner, John Breslow.

“It’s like a van Gogh you can drive,” he says. Breslow even did the Copperstate 1000 rally with it, and who can blame him? This car is just too gorgeous to stay locked up in a garage.
