Lamborghini’s range might not be as near as extensive as their archrivals from Maranello, but what they lack in independent models they make up for it with a plethora of derivatives.
Two years after the debut of the Gallardo’s successor, and the Huracan family already counts five members, including the LP 610-4 AWD Coupe, the LP 610-4 AWD Spyder, the LP 610-4 AWD Avio limited edition, the LP 580-2 RWD Coupe, and the LP 620-2 RWD Super Trofeo racer.
Far from done, there’s a sixth version of the Huracan in the works, believed to be the hottest road-going model yet, possibly adopting the Superleggera or Super Veloce (SV) badge.
This is the second time we’ve spied the Huracan mule, and as before, the main difference over the stock models is a box that’s used to mask the relocated exhaust pipes, as according to our man on the field, the four outlets on the white tester were fake. Our spy also reported that the car sounded way more aggressive on the track than the plain Huracan.
The end product should get a modest bump in power over the standard model’s 610PS (602hp) with a tweaked 5.2L V10, aided by a reduction in weight and a faster transmission, together with a re-tuned chassis and more aggressive aerodynamic body parts.
No word yet on when and where Lamborghini plans to reveal the hotter Huracan, but we should get a first look at the production car before the end of the year.
