If this Datsun was a book, it would have a disgusting torn cover with faded lettering but the story inside would blow your mind.

Underneath the sad-looking bodywork there is a properly tuned chassis, featuring an S13 rear subframe, axles from an R33 and a twin-turbo 2JZ massaged to produced 400hp at the wheels through a five-speed Nissan 300ZX manual gearbox.

The owner completed the build with the kind help of his friends in just three months which is an impressive achievement, judging by the sorted dynamics of the car. As you would expect from a car like this, the attention to cosmetics inside out is simply not there.

There are no side windows, the cabin has shards of broken glass scattered all over the place and the fuel pump makes its presence known the whole time.

But all this doesn’t matter when the car itself proves to be a properly sorted canyon carver. It might be dressed in junkyard clothes but this Nissan is a genuine hooligan, as Matt Farah find out in his latest One Take film.
