As fans of the franchise already know, Tyrese Gibson plays Roman Pearce in the extremely popular Fast & Furious movies, often the source of some much-needed comedic relief.

The California-born & raised actor shared this video from the set, giving us some insight into what’s going on in Havana, Cuba where the team has gathered to film street racing scenes featuring vintage cars.

Director F. Gary Gray seems extremely happy with the way things are going on set and even goes as far as to say that they’re “making history.”

According to Vin Diesel, Fast 8 is going to have a lot more racing that previous installments of the franchise (as fans requested), which is good because as the characters morphed from street racers into international criminals/spies, the essence of the first couple of movies was clearly lost.

Diesel, along with Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese, Chris “Ludacris” Birdges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black will be joined by Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood and Charlize Theron – who’s playing Cipher, the movie’s main villain.
